Learn how the Aloha Sakura Preservation Society and the BCo/100Bn/442RCT Reenactment Group work to preserve the trees and share the legacy of the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team, and Military Intelligence Service.

The 2026 Joint Memorial Service honored all the men who served in the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team (RCT), Military Intelligence Service (MIS), and 1399th Engineer Construction Battalion who died during World War II or have since passed away. The service brought together veterans, families, youth, community leaders, and supporters to remember their service, sacrifice, and enduring legacy.

"Voices to Courage: Hawaiʻi’s One Puka Puka Heroes," is a summer theater program in 2026 dedicated to honoring the legacy of the 100th Infantry Battalion — the first segregated unit of Americans of Japanese ancestry (AJA) to serve in World War II.

A Purple Heart City sign dedication ceremony was held on December 22, 2025 at the 100th Infantry Battalion Veterans Clubhouse in Honolulu, recognizing the city's commitment to honoring those wounded or killed in service —and paying tribute to the Hawaii-born 100th Infantry Battalion, known in WWII as “The Purple Heart Battalion.”
