A Purple Heart City sign dedication ceremony was held on December 22, 2025 at the 100th Infantry Battalion Veterans Clubhouse in Honolulu, recognizing the city's commitment to honoring those wounded or killed in service —and paying tribute to the Hawaii-born 100th Infantry Battalion, known in WWII as “The Purple Heart Battalion.”

On December 9, 2025, the 100th Infantry Battalion Veterans (Club 100) were honored to accept the Commendation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for Club 100’s role in establishing mutual understanding between Japan and Hawaii, as well as the USA.

Olelo Community Media has just released a documentary about the 100th Infantry Battalion and the veterans organization the men of the unit incorporated 80 years ago, “Club 100.”

The 100th Infantry Battalion Veterans (Club 100) is selected as one of 51 recipients of the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation for FY 2025, awarded to groups outside of Japan for outstanding achievements in international fields that contribute to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and areas.
