Discover the story of the Aloha Sakura, cherry trees planted in Maizuru, Japan, in 1950 as a symbol of friendship by Fujio “Wymo” Takaki, a Nisei soldier from Hawaiʻi. Learn how the Aloha Sakura Preservation Society and the BCo/100Bn/442RCT Reenactment Group work to preserve the trees and share the legacy of the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team, and Military Intelligence Service.

The 2026 Joint Memorial Service honored all the men who served in the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team (RCT), Military Intelligence Service (MIS), and 1399th Engineer Construction Battalion who died during World War II or have since passed away. The service brought together veterans, families, youth, community leaders, and supporters to remember their service, sacrifice, and enduring legacy.

The 2026 Joint Memorial Service will be held on September 27, 2026, at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl in Honolulu. Open to the public, the service honors soldiers of the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team, Military Intelligence Service, and 1399th Engineer Construction Battalion who died in World War II or have since passed away. The ceremony will feature keynote speaker Major General Jason Kamiya, U.S. Army (Ret.).

A sold-out production at Mānoa Valley Theatre, Voices to Courage: Hawaiʻi’s One Puka Puka Heroes featured six Hawaiʻi students who transformed the remarkable history of the 100th Infantry Battalion into an emotional and inspiring theatrical performance.

The 100th Infantry Battalion Veterans' 84th Anniversary Banquet welcomed members, families, and friends for an afternoon of remembrance, inspiring stories, and fellowship. Nearly 180 guests gathered to honor the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of the 100th Battalion through special tributes, meaningful reflections, and shared memories.
