Mahalo to everyone who attended the "SHAKA, A Story of Aloha" (https://shakafilm.com/) Special Screening at the 100th Infantry Battalion Clubhouse today. The film was awarded the Audience Choice Award for Best Feature Documentary at the Hawaiʻi International Film Festival (HIFF) in 2024, and was shown as a fundraiser for “The 100TH, Seeds of Aloha” (https://100thfilm.com/), currently in production. The fundraiser was very successful, and we thank everyone for their generosity.
Our audience included family members of the 100th Infantry Battalion and supportive members of our greater community. We were treated to an introduction by film producer, Steve Sue, of Hawai‘i nonprofit, ID8, and a Q&A session after the film with Steve and SHAKA and 100TH film director, Alex Bocchieri.

Please join us on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 1 p.m., for a special film showing at the 100th Infantry Battalion Veterans Clubhouse (520 Kamoku Street, Honolulu, HI 96826).
The movie, “SHAKA, A Story of Aloha," (https://shakafilm.com/) was awarded the Audience Choice Award for Best Feature Documentary at the Hawaiʻi International Film Festival (HIFF) in 2024. It will be shown as a fundraiser for “The 100TH, Seeds of Aloha” (https://100thfilm.com/), currently in production. This special screening will include an introduction by filmmaker, Steve Sue, of Hawai‘i nonprofit, ID8.
"The 100TH, Seeds of Aloha" is part of Project Shaka, a trilogy of educational films on the Aloha Spirit by ID8. It is a feature-length educational documentary that tells the inspiring story of AJA (Americans of Japanese ancestry) soldiers from Hawai‘i who, despite facing suspicion and discrimination after the attack on Pearl Harbor, bravely served in 100th Infantry Battalion and 442nd Regimental Combat Team, in World War II. They fought to help liberate Europe, while also sowing seeds of Aloha that blossomed into a positive legacy that encircled the world.
To attend, please complete the RSVP form on the QR code or register online [REGISTRATION CLOSED]. Suggested donation is $10 per person.
We hope to see you there!
